Ireland to Scotland

I am trying to find out more about Patrick Gorman B. c1835 married Ann Virtue. B  .c1843.  I think they originally came from Ireland.  Patricks father was called John and mother Jane Brown.  Can't find anything on them.
Any help appreciated.

Have you found them on the Scottish census yet http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/
That will give you a place of birth and will confirm your Ireland theory.

Ask in the relevent Scottish board here first, before spending money on Scotlands people, they will probably be able to point you in the right direction.

Thanks Sharon.  I keep forgetting to make more us of these boards.  I've spent hours today on ancestry trying to find people....no luck though.

Unfortunately Ancestry etc do not have the main Scottish Records .... the GROS cannily kept them for themselves through Scotlands People.

I have heard that Scotlandspeople is a very good site. I tried it once but kept having trouble getting it to accept my card.  Did the same on another site a week or so ago and they have just emailed to say they had "changed hands" for want of the right words!  They apologised but didn't say whether the money had been taken!!  I hate using my card on internet.
