WOOD family of Bervie/Inverbervie
« on: Tuesday 04 January 11 03:03 GMT (UK) »
Happy New Year to all on this forum.

I've recently had a breakthrough with a troublesome line in neighbouring Angus and have discovered Elizabeth Dundas' marriage Adam Wood in St Cyrus.

They settled in Johnshaven where Adam and several further generations of Adam Woods worked as salmon fishers. I would love to know if anyone is descended from this couple. The most recent family
member I can trace is an Adam Wood dying in Inverbervie in 1970, aged 79. He was born 1891 son of Adam Wood and Ann McDonald. He married Lizzie Kinnear Smith in 1924 in Bervie. I believe they had at least two daughters, Ann and Mary

Does anyone know anything about the Wood family of Bervie/Inverbervie?

Hi Robyn,

I have Smith's, McDonalds and Kinnears in my tree all from the Bervie/Montrose area.  I will need to check and see, but will do this at the weekend for you.

Regards,
Lynda
