Plus there are quite a few trees on A....y that have a Thomas Francis, born 1799, parents Samuel and Amelia.

But that probably means 1 person put the names up, and everyone else just copied it!!

I ordered Edward Francis' (b. 1843, Bath, Somerset) birth certificate. This is one of Thomas' sons.
It says that his father is Thomas and mother is Maria (nee. Carter).

I can't find anymore information on Thomas or Maria.

Can anyone do a search for me and help me?

Thank you.  ;)

No luck on Maria but Thomas, son of Paul & Susannah FRANCIS of North Bradley, was aged 5 at baptism 20 May 1804.  A sibling Paul aged 3 was baptized the same day.  I've not checked for others but, sadly, their father was buried the previous month - 05 Apr 1804 aged 40 - and it appears their mother followed 12 Jul 1812 aged 44 or pre-deceased him if the Susanna buried 01 Nov 1801.   :'(

Thomas & Maria had a daughter Susan aged 6 in their 1861 household.   ;D

Update:
FamilySearch.org reveals 8 baptisms of the issue of Paul at North Bradley, including a Daniel and an Edward, which names are repeated in Thomas & Maria's issue.  The 4 baptized 1804 were all 'late' baptisms, presumably conducted in order to be eligible for parish relief.
