Hi, can anyone tell me the meaning of the latin word appensa. It is in a retour from 1812....

My dictionary gives a few definitions, including to weigh out; pay or give out; hang, cause to be suspended.  Do any of these fit in the context?

Mmmmm not sure.....here's the complete sentence.............sunt appensa nec non cum subscriptione......The pay or give out may suit or cause to be suspended!!!!

It would be something like hung - it translates roughly as 'are hung with the subscription'.  Is that definitely the complete sentence?  Sunt appensa should appear after something, and there should be something after subscription too.

An example of the wording can be found here.

Or it can mean something like 'appended'.  Were there people added onto a subscription of something?  You can see it being used like that here.
