Hi hallmark  I have had a look at the 1901 census there could be some possible relatives there, but without any links i can only guess using ages.Brothers Lawrence and James married 1880 & 1889 in sunderland and continued to live there till their deaths,Bother Andrew married Margaret Gollagly b-1849(spelling approx) in armagh in 1880 oct-dec father Terrence Gallogly b-1829. After the marriage they also moved to sunderland

Did you look for any England Born, RC, Crawfords in Ireland in 1901?

Maybe some were in Ireland at that time...

No i had not checked the irish census as all the three brothers children are accounted for up to either the english 1911 census as crawfords or through marriages for the females or both sex's deaths. I think i may have hit the brick wall as registration was not available before 1864

Ah, ok it was worth a try. Looks like church records if they exist.

You "now believe james and lawrence could have been born in monaghan in 1901"...  so maybe their birth certs could give clues?

Hi hallmark can you get a birth certificate when there's no registration documents, all i know is castleblayney for James in1862 and just Monacan for Andrew and Lawrence 1845 &1850
I have just found out this afternoon Andrews marriage certificate details at the chapel of st Malchy in Oct-DEC 1880 but no residence address's just as i said before the fathers names were Andrew a mason and Terence a farmer

No. It was for "james and lawrence could have been born in monaghan in 1901"... I was suggesting.

Hi  hallmark you had me confused for a while there when you said about Lawrence and  James being born in Monaghan in 1901, but looking back at the previous replies it was me that made the error of not putting a full stop between my statements  about the births and the census sorry about that.
I do get confused with this game when you just can't get the info you want but you know it's out there somewhere
thanks for your help fully appreciated.brian
