Do you have any or did your ancestors have any connections with Jacksdale, Westwood or Pye Hill ?
Jacksdale Heritage Group is appealing for photographs or information about people named
on the 1911 census for Jacksdale, Westwood and Pye Hill.
Local school pupils will be involved with this project and we wish to show them what our villagers of
100 years ago looked like.
We are also appealing for information about houses, shops and businesses or anything relating to that time.
We will be launching new pages on our village website shortly with a page for every family/household on the 1911 in Jacksdale Westwood and Pye Hill. With the aid of an OS map from 1916 we have managed in some instances to identify which house our 1911 ancestors actually lived in.
If you can help with any information or photographs of any kind it would be much appreciated.
We are also appealing for any information/photographs of the men named on our village war memorial which lists those who gave their lives but also those who served. We have been collecting this information for a number of years but there are still many servicemen for whom we have no details.
