Robinson in Liverpool
« on: Monday 10 January 11 18:49 GMT (UK) »
Hi from Spain,

Trying again ::)

Alexander Robinson died in Liverpool 1958,Royal Ordinance Rectifirer on death  cert.( some people think could be Articifer !!!)

On death cert- person  mentioned-D.O Robinson.
Any help here-seems a dead end !!!

Alexander was born in N.Ireland c 1898? I cannot find anything that matches in Tyrone-he was married there and served in Police Force after 1921.
Not sure if he remarried!- again can find no divorce from Ellen (boyle).

More interested in the D.O. Robinson, anyone got any ideas.

Any relationship shown?  If not - - being honest - with a surname like Robinson and no christian names - I think you are looking for a needle in a haystack

I am posting the link to your other post about Alexander for  background information only

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,431091.0.html

He married in Ireland before leaving his wife and presumably children.

Clearly - D O Robinson was not from that marriage otherwise you would have known about them

You have been unable to find another marriage for him in either Ireland or England but that would not preclude him living with, and having children by, another woman which may have resulted in "D O Robinson".

He was still in Ireland until at least 1926  (RUC) so there is a 30+ year timespan

You also have to consider that D O Robinson may have been female and been his daughter in law rather than his biological child

Hi Carole :)

That's about it-have tried the Royal Ordinance link= and nothing comes out of it.
D.O. Robinson as you say ,vague to say the least-hoping against hope thatit might ring a bell with any Robinsons.
I thought I'd try again-having huge luck recently with other sside of family.
Thank You

Hi,

I have not been able to find a divorce for my grandparents-Alexander H Robinson and Ellen (Nellie) Boyle.
I  thought that there was possibility of D.O. Robinson being his partner, and just assuming his surname.
He was born about 1898?  from the info on death cert-being 60 of age at death.
I have wondered since it appears that the grandparents split in the early 30's ,whether he may have had another family in Liverpool.

Does it give the address of the informant.  Does it give the relationship of the informant to the deceased person.
Can you give us any addresses, please.

Questions I  would ask are:    Where is he buried,  if you could find his grave and headstone, then the headstone would probably  say "Husband of X   and Father of Y"

Where was he working in 1958?

When you find the certificate, please come back and talk it through.

The other question is whether he was a technician employed as a civilian by the Navy or Army.

Try looking for family notices announcing his death in the Liverpool Echo,  on microfiche.
