Frederick Simmonds married Mary Ann Hamann Nov 8th 1896 at St James the Great, Bethnal Green

Frederick Simmonds / 25 / Bachelor / Engine cleaner / 13 Mansford St/ Frederick Simmonds / Foreman
Mary Ann Hamann / 25 / Spinster / 13 Mansford St / Peter Hamann / Deceased

Witnesses were Gertrude Hamann and Charles Green?  (looks like he died halfway through writing his signature  ;))

hi,
Which could fit with the 1871 Census
RG10/523 0/2 Gowers Walk, Jones Buildings, Whitechapel

On 1901 census Mary Ann is down as born Gowers Walk, London.
1871 is part missing  but you can see

Peter Haman  head mar  60  Cooper  Germany
?          "         wife   mar   38                 "
?          "                   dau   8                 England
?Joseph "                son   7                 Middlesex, Whitechapel
?            "                 dau  2                   "                  "
Mariana Haman       dau   1                   "                  "

Best wishes

Hi,
Sorry, Peter and his wifes pob should have read Prussia.
Here is Frederick and Mary Ann in 1901, Simmonds on image but same family is in Canning Town in 1911 as Simmons.

RG13/1580  148/1
2, Argyle Road, West Ham.
Frederick Simmonds  head mar 30 Dock Labourer  Gravesend, Kent
Mary Ann     "            wife   mar 31                          Gowers Walk, London
Alice             "            dau           8                           Essex, West Ham
Mary             "            dau           6                            "
Frederick   "                son          5                             "
Lily             "               dau          2                             "
Sidney       "                son          5mos                      "
Maggie Young       Visitor  single 19                          "
Fred Fish               Visitor  mar     28                        Erith, Kent

There is a death for a Peter Hamann aged 58 in Whitechapel OND 1877 so does nt tally with age on 1871.
I can t find Mary Ann etc on 1881 or 1891.

Cathy :)

Now, I found Mary earlier, but I can't remember which census it was  ::)  I know I had to get to her via Gertrude because Gertrude was still Hamann but Mary wasn't.

Off I go.....
