Robert Lewis C 1869

Trying to find any more information on my great grandfather Robert Lewis born in Buttington in 1869 he married Sarah Ann Ridge .Has anybody got anymore info on him or any other Lewis's that maybe related as I am unable to go back any further.Thanks

Have you got him on 1871 or 1881 with his family?

No we haven't managed it all we saw was a record of him being born in 1869 in Buttington but have struggled ever since ,Ihave had a few people helping that have done this before but even they could not find him

I would be looking strongly at his birth being registered somewhere else.It did happen,particularly if people moved about with their work.

Does he consistantly give Buttington as pob on censuses afte his marriage?
What record did you see with this pob on?

When/where  did he marry?

on the records from the montgomery geneology society have though on the 1891 census it says that he was born in Poolquay which is not far away and on the 1901 census it again mentions Buttington as his birth village.Robert + Sarah got married in Welshpool and I can find information about him from his marriage but I can't find his parents

Haven't got as far as the marriage cert yet have only just started the history a few months ago and it takes over your life but is so enjoyable

I apologise welshwonder,in your case its a vital first step to get the marriage certificate.It will show Robert's father and his occupation.
