Alderney births ~ 1855 please
« on: Friday 14 January 11 18:35 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone help me with a "Blackmore" birth on Alderney, about 1855.
Emma Blackmore daughter of John and Mary Blackmore.
I've seen a reference on rootsweb to her being born in Alderny.
Her father was born 1831 in Ash Priors, Somerset, England and emmigrated to Simcoe County, Ontario, Canada.
She appears on the 1881 Canadian census as being born in England, with the rest of her siblings born after 1855 in Innisfil, Simcoe County, Ontario, Canada, so maybe the Channel Islands are considered to be part of England!
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi charlow.
This is my first time using this forum so please excuse me.
John (1831) was my GG Grandfather Abraham (1834) brother.
I have done comprehensive study of the Blackmore and Le Pelley families.
Both Abraham and Joseph lived and worked on Alderney before they emigrated to New Zealand.
It wouldn't suprise me if John also lived there.
I would like to communicate with you about John, Emma and families in Canada and also John's Ancestors.
