Thomas Bridgewater
« on: Friday 04 June 04 23:03 BST (UK) »
Hi
Im still at a loss as to where to find any more information about Thomas Bridgewater b1870, now know his mother was Rachel Bridgewater. I got him on 1881 census living in Weeford with his grandparents, know he married Mary Bates in 1896. On 1901 census his wife, Mary and 2 children were living with his grandfather in Weeford but I can find no trace of Thomas after his marriage, would really appreciate any help on this.
Jenny

Hi Jenny,

I have found a Thomas Bridgewater on the 1871 census.  Done know if you already have this info.

He is living with his grand parents.

Thomas Bridgewater  age 47  ag lab  born Drayton Bassett
Elizabeth  wife            age 42             born Leicestershire
Ellen         daur           age 10 Scholar born (can't make it out)
Alice         daur           age  4               born Hints Staff
Lucy         daur           age 2                born Hints Staff
Thomas Bridgewater  grandson age 11 mths  born Tamworth.  I know on the IGI it said Drayton Bassett so it could be a mistake on this census.
There is no Rachel living with them.

Regards Jacquie.

Hi Phil
Thanks for you offer, the Thomas Im looking for was born in Tamworth in 1870, mother was Rachel Bridgewater.
Ive got him living at something like flats cottage Weeford in 1881 with his grandfather, also called Thomas and his family. I found Rachel married someone called Francis Sedgwick in 1876.
Thomas married Mary Bates in 1896, had 2 children on 1901 census, Dorothy born 1899 and Thomas (my grandfather) 1900.
On census Mary and children were still loiving with Thomas's grandfather in Weeford, but Thomas was not on there, someone sugested he may have been away with Boar war, but I have no idea, can find nothing for Thomas after his marriage except on my grandfathers birth cert.
Would appreciatte any help you can give me
Jenny
