"The Holdings"
« on: Sunday 16 January 11 18:04 GMT (UK) »
My ggrandmother's death certificate notes that she was living at "9 Holdings, Dysart" at the time of her death in 1932.  The following year her daughter's marriage certificate notes the same address (minor variation: 9 The Holdings, Dysart).

Was this an actual street location?

I note that the family farmed at Dysart Muir Farm, but I didn't think they owned the property.

regards
Sharon

this can mean the farm cottages in which the farm workers live ,
sometimes a row of cottages or or a group of cottages which belong to the farmer and he rents them out to his workers
