Hi Joanne

It looks like

<something>
Hawker

But I can't be sure  - I'm trying to find a Joseph Kennedy and a Mary Stronach on the censuses to verify.

JL

Added - just seen Annie's post - it definitely starts with a P and is a 3 letter word so I'd go with Pot  ;D

Hi, Joanne, looks like Pot Hawker to me.  A Hawker was a pedlar - so he sold Pots.
See Old Occupations at the following link.

Hi Joanne

The Family search site is up and down today so you might not be able to get the 1881 link to work

Try searching for Joseph Kennedy b. 1863, Wakefield  in Tadcaster, Yorkshire

The ref is RG11/4713/58/18
