Hi Irene,

Here are the available birth, death and marriage indexes for Tasmania:

Births/baptisms 1838-1919
Marriages  1838-1930
Deaths/Burials 1838-1930

These indexes are available on CD.  Due to privacy laws the records are closed for 100 years for births, 75 years for marriages, and 25 years for deaths.  Other options are cemetery records and BMD newspaper notices at http://trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/home
