Laughery/McCabe
« on: Thursday 20 January 11 19:50 GMT (UK) »
Alexander Laughery, born 1859 or 1861 married Annie McCabe in 1878. Annie also went by the name Nancy. I believe Annie may have come from Antrim as her father, Patrick, was born there in 1831. They lived around Tirhugh, Swatragh. Info on the Laugherys or McCabes would be greatly appreciated.

1901 census for Tirhugh lists Patrick McCabe with grandson James Loughery (age 12)- all household born Co.Antrim (both a son and this grandson James Loughery listed as imbecile):
www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Londonderry/Swatragh/Tirhugh/1545668

By 1911 census Patrick McCabe is in Alexander Loughrey's household at Ballydullaghan:
www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Londonderry/The_Grove/Ballydullaghan/592533
Son Patrick Loughrey age 19 and born Glasgow- his Scottish birth certificate should list date and place of parents' marriage.

Here's Alexander Loughery and family in 1901 census- in this census both Patrick and sister Lizzie supposed to be born in Scotland:

Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
