Hello and welcome to Rootschat  :)

I think that Evan was a farm servant so may have been living away from his family in previous census years.

I think this is him in 1841:
Ynysyberfed? Lledrod Upper
Evans Morgans age 15  Male Servant born Cardiganshire

at farm of Joseph Davies age 45 Farmer

HO107 Piece 1374 Book 11 ED 3 Folio 5 Page 1

1871
Maeselwad, Caron Upper Uwchclawdd
Evan Morgans age 45  Married  born Llanbadarn-Odwyn  Farm Servant

Farm of William Jones age 58 Farmer 402 acres

RG10 Piece 5570 Folio 58 Page 28

On the 1861 at Lloce bach, Evan was written on the page as Head of household but crossed through. It looks like Lab in the occupation field, and Margaret is listed as Farmer's Wife.

RG9 Piece 4201 Folio 27 Page 15

1851 Wenallt, Llanafan
Farm of Robert Sibbett? born Scotland  Farmer 180 acres
Evan Morgans age 26 Farm Servant  born Gwnnws

HO107 Piece 2486 Folio 347 Page 1

Kind Regards
Morgan

Hi

Many thanks for the help. I agree with your decisions as these farms are all in the same locality as Llocau Bach.

Here's an interesting article about agricultural labour in 19th century (on Ceredigion CC site):
