Is anyone familiar with Salmon Arm, B.C.......I was wondering about the local cemeteries and if there was any information available on line. I'm looking for further information on the following individual:

Name: Margaret Jane Rutherford (nee Carmichael)
Age: 78
Death Date: 31 Aug 1974
Place of Death: Salmon Arm

She was married to a Thomas Rutherford. I am trying to find out about him. I wondered if he and Margaret were buried in the same spot and then maybe I could get some info regarding his birth date.

Hi Mab

In addition to Margaret Jane Rutherford's death on the pilot family search site, I see a death registration for Thomas Rutherford in Vancouver, BC on November 13, 1943.  It shows his date of birth as April 9, 1890.

There is also a marriage for Thomas Rutherford and Margaret Jane Carmichael in Victoria, BC, on December 25, 1919.

Would you like me to look up the death and marriage registrations and give you a transcription of the documents?  The death regs include a section on burial/cremation information.  I will be at my family history society library within the next couple of weeks.

That's a pretty good find. I'm still trying to find info on him but I'll be honest I got a bit side tracked. I have found someone who is a very very distant relative. I hope to get in contact with him to find out more about Thomas...that's if he knows anything more. I'll let you know.

Well ........according to the info I just received that's the same person.  This is the birth info.

The gentleman I got the info from has census records, passenger records etc....so now I just have to mull it over and see if it helps me in my own little search.
