Douglas ,Chapman ?

i am looking for the birth of William Chapman born about 1845 according to the census he is living in  Flint shire with  A Mary Jones ( needle in a haystack ) where would i be able to look at this or get a reference the family move from Flint to wigan then eventually into Durham they are mining stock . This is the 1871 census
 I would be greatful of any help thank you

In 1871 they were in Wigan - not Wales - and Mary is his wife

Have you looked for a marriage for them?   www.freebmd.org.uk  There is one in 1868 in Holywell

A copy of the marriage cert will give his fathers name or you can check if the marriage is on the IGI Pilot website which may show his name
