Janet (now spelt Janette) married William James Wagstaff in 1896 Kensington & in 1901 they are living in Battersea with their 3 year old daughter Janette (RG13/446/87/22).

Yep definitely the same dad on her marriage cert- Willian Dewar dec'd, now described as a farmer.

Janet is mistranscribed as Jannette McWhister Dewan! was 28 when she married William Wagstaff.

Their witnesses were George and Eliza Brewster.Might be useful in the future

Found Margaret in 1871 with her parents in Mannigaff, Kirkcudbright, Scotland.

In 1881 William, Margaret  & son Adam are back in Penninghame Wigtown. William is down as Shepherd.

Adam was born 14/04/1863 in Penninghame, wigtown. Parents William Dewar & Margaret Rodger.

Margaret 23 a spinster,same address,her father William Dewar a shepherd(decd)

Witnesses- Janet McWhirter Dewar and Billie someone( really bad writing!)

All signed their own names.

By the way, the minute you put in the name Margaret Dewar- nearly all the results come up in Scotland!

Could I be very cheeky and ask if you have details of Robert CRUST's second marriage (to a Kate Oceania(!) CARTER 5 Aug 1893, reg Q3 1893 Lambeth 1d 876)?  (Kate, predictably in view of her middle name, was born at sea).

I'd just add that Robert was a builder not a carpenter this time.
I think his dad is described as a ballast guard?
