Hi Nick,

His second wife was Florence who died in 1979, I  should not mention his son the informant on her death certificate.

I have not  sent for their marriage certificate yet.

That's all for the moment

The marriage certificate should give an address at the time of marriage.

He'd probably be listed in telephone and trade directories of the period.  Ancestry has phone directories to search online.

Otherwise you'd need to go to an archive or library that has these - the Guildhall Library London has a good selection, ditto The National Archives Library at Kew.  I don't know about Hackney Archives.
Chowns in Buckinghamshire
Broad, Eplett & Pope in St Ervan/St Columb Major, Cornwall
Browning & Moore in Cambridge, St Andrew the Less
Emms, Mealing & Purvey in Cotswolds, Gloucestershire
Barnes, Dunt, Gray, Massingham in Norfolk
Higho in London
Matthews & Nash in Whichford, Warwickshire
Smoothy, Willsher in Coggeshall & Chelmsford, Essex

Not on Ancestry, at the moment waiting on a marriage Certificate, will try the LMA for Directories and then Electors registers. Hackney say they have phone directories too, yes Guildhall Library is a good choice too.

Thanks
