My mother has a copy Ozigal, I could ask her to look it up. Alternatively, your local library may have a copy, I know mine does.

Thanks for your reply Sharon.

I have checked my local library and they need to order in a copy (12 week delay  ::) )

Would you mind checking with your mother if the article re the ship "Adelaide" (page 79->) is worth reading particularly if ancestors were on that ship?

Thanks

Hi Ozigal,

There is quite a bit of information on the ship and on the passengers. It only has information on ancestors who are from Somerset. Would you like my mother to look up someone for you?

Thanks for checking with your mother Sharon.

Although the people I was looking for aren't from Somerset it may still be worth me ordering the book just to read about their journey. I'll recheck the delay time at my library again.

Thank you for your help

I realise this thread is a few years old but i need some help with this book please.

Im trying to find what information is in it on Page 58 - begins a chapter on the Lysander, including a description of the voyage; then reference is made to John Harrison 25 from Bristol and his wife Susanna 20 born in London.

Can anyone help please?  :)

Hi Giblet

I have family who emigrated on the Lysander arirving Port Phillip, 22nd October, 1841.  Is this the voyage in that book?  My lot were Irish so I doubt they would be mentioned.  I think they joined the voyage in Plymouth and it would be interesting to read about it.

I note that the NLA has it.  They offer a very good copy service so long as the copies required don't violate copyright.  Cost is $16.50 for 50 consecutive pages so perhaps the chapter you want would be 50 pages or less.

Bummer - I was at the NLA today and could easily have looked at it for you.
