Thanks for both postings Lizzie, I agree that we may well have been following the wrong Stanton (Stenton) line as there was no standard spelling at that time (see Shakespeare's will!) I shall incorporate this information and uncouple the Somercotes Stanton's from my tree, and leave them on the data base as they may connect earlier if we can ever get that far back.
