If Emily was the mother, then she had Tola at 16 which would indicate she was unmarried.  This would concur with Tola's Marriage Bann record to Clara Beer as no father was listed.

A Melluish Tola owned and/or run a dining room in London in 1915 at the following address, 11 Chapel Street Edgware Road, London NW.
