You mustn't assume that because you have found someone who seems to fit, it must be the right one. Many people's baptisms were not recorded, or if they were the record did not survive. The further back you go, the more likely it is that a baptism isn't in the survving record. The same applies to marriages.

So, never assume. If you can find corroborating evidence, fine, but otherwise be very wary.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.
