there is a marriage on IGI for
John Dick and Margaret Biggart
13/8/1785 Paisley
doing  a parent search there is a few children for this couple,
looking at their names there is a possible
birth for a Margaret Biggart 1769 in Ayrshire
with parents Robert Biggart and Janet Cochran
as John and Margaret called one of their sons Robert and one of their daughters Jean/ interchangeable with Janet,
just thought it was worth looking at

Thanks for your reply, that's very interesting I found the following this morning  when looking for biggar/t burials.

1178 Here Lies the remains of Robert Biggar, Cutler late in kilmaurs who died Dec 9th 1773 aged 75 years (c1698)
At: Paisley Oakshaw East (Oakshaw Street United Free Church & France's Kirkyard) (source Happy Haggis)

As the surname rings a bell from the cutler David Biggart the sword maker.

Could it be possible?

Thanks for your reply, I'm not sure whether she was alive in 1841 as I hadn't found her in the census for the 1841 census in paisley nor a record for her death, John Dick on the other hand I had found a record for and he appears to have died in a poorhouse.

there is another Margaret Biggart
born 1766 Ayrshire
father David Biggart mother Isobel Harvie
as far as I can see this is the only birth on IGI for this couple
it is difficult to link them because it was before registration

I've had a look over the records you have both mentioned and the match also but in different ways like the naming pattern used to check the parents, and the location of where the children are born from Margaret & John in oakshaw.
