Gallacher and Grey

I am trying to track down the marriage certificate for Micheal Gallacher and Elizabeth Gallacher (nee Grey) in Edinburgh 29th December 1923, but i cant seem to track it - any help much appreciated.  I do know they were living in Hawick in 1929. Thanks to all in advance x x

Hi,

Possible marriage showing for them in 1924 in Edinburgh. If the marriage was so late in the month of December, it may not have been registered until the begining of 1924. Elizabeth's surname shows with an 'a' - GRAY.

The only source for Scottish BMDs is the official pay to view site www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk, costs are reasonable. For this year, you will be able to view and download their marriage entry. Scottish marriage certs are very informative. They will include full arents' names for groom and bride to then let you work back to their families. SP have really good help pages on their site. It is free to register on the site and do general searches. You do need to buy units (min. £6GB for 30 units) to view search results and images.
