Morris Family - Cresswell Derbyshire
« on: Wednesday 02 February 11 15:24 GMT (UK) »

Wondering if anyone can help me with this.
- i'ts probably in the realms of living memory.
I am looking for information especially on "Preacher Jack " (John Morris) he came from Glynceiriog in Wales as did his brothers, and moved to work in the coal mines odf Cresswell.
On an obituary of his father i have him attending as Jack, Jenny and Children. Can anyone assist me with some concrete info
What i do know was he was born in 1893
He served in WW1 and when he came out of the army he was unmarried at that point in 1916

Any help would be really appreciated

Betton

You appear to know who his father was - have you looked for him on the 1911 census?

Have you checked freebmd post 1916 for a marriage to a Jenny/Jennifer

I know that John aka Jack died June quater of 1973 in wales - but lived most of his life in Cresswell Derbyshire

i can't find a marriage to Jenny or Jennifer
i guess i may be stuffed on this request  :-\
He was a well known personality in Cresswell, due to the fact he was a Lay preacher.

thanks
 for looking.
