Can anything be done to restore/improve this; it is the earliest photo of me taken when my parents brought me home from hospital.

Thanks

Not a lot better
GUIDE FOR PHOTO RESTORATIONS PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR SCANNER BED IS CLEAN AND SCAN AT A RESOLUTION OF 300-600 WITH THE SCALE AT 100% MINIMUM.

If you would like a coloured version, details such as hair colour , eyes and clothing etc.  if known  would be helpful to restorers

Regards Roy

Not a lot better

Personal opinion is that it's a vast improvement on the original rsinbad.
I had a play with this one and gave up! ( Not enough hair left to pull out!! ;D )

If jds could rescan at 300 dpi and with no compression, it might be a better original to work on  :-\

It's only 72 dpi and very heavily pixellated.

Good attempt rsinbad  :)

Thanks for all your efforts so far - I'm sorry about the lack of hair. I've re-scanned at a higher resolution - I hope its better and promotes new hair growth,

Thanks

Good idea that. Instead of pulling your hair out you could just throw it across the room!!  ;D  ;D  ;D

Thanks again - but now I'm tearing my hair out!

I've tried six times to scan the original at a higher resolution. I set the scanner [Epson SX105] to scan at 300 dpi - same result as before.

I then used the controls on Picassa - also set to scan at 300 dpi - same result!

The highest I can get seems to be 96dpi.

Clearly I'm doing something wrong, but I'm at a loss to know what.

All suggestions - and hair tonic - welcomed,
