Hi Ann :)

As I'm sure you appreciate, Middlesex is a big area!  I'm afraid you would need to be a bit more specific with your request - do you have a death certificate for the child?  This would at least give a location of death, from which a cemetery or crematorium might be able to be narrowed down.

There is a good guide to burials in the London area at the top of the L&M board, here:

Cheers

Hi Prue,

Thank you for the reply.  The baby died in Central Ealing Hospital in 1960.
Death register 1960
Registration District: Willesden
Interred: County of Middlesex

I believe that the family were RC, so I think that the burial will have been in a RC Cemetary.

Thank you once again.

Ann

Hi

Civic cemeteries bury anyone whatever their religion including Catholics. The Catholic church like all churches does not maintain and run modern cemeteries (though it may have some older smaller historic cemeteries), they are run either by London boroughs or private companies. If you read the guide Pru gave you a link to it lists all the 'modern' cemeteries (dating from those opened from the middle of the C19th onwards). The most likely London borough cemeteries are managed by Brent and Ealing. The links are in the guide to the boroughs' cemetery offices.

Valda

Hi Ann

There is a dedicated RC cemetery at St Mary's Kensal Green. Contact details here, scroll down to St Mary's  (they don't have a website)

http://www.iccm-uk.com/search.php?searchstr=London&type=cem&mode=0&start=25&offset=25#

However, depending on where the family were living at the time, the child may have been buried nearer to home.

Hi all,

Thank you for your replies and information.  I have searched unsuccessfully to try and find out where this baby boy was buried.  He died in Central Ealing Hospital on 27th Aug 1960.

Hi,

Deceased Online has records from the London Borough of Brent which might cover the home area of the baby.

Have you written to all the cemetery offices of all the local authorities in the area? Contact details can be found through Valda's topic mentioned above.

That's the London Boroughs of Brent, Ealing, Hounslow, Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea, and Westminster.

Although Brent have put their records online, they are far from complete, Paddington Old has still to be done

All Souls - Kensal Green cemetery is privately owned, their records aren't online either.

Where were the family living at the time of their bereavement?
