Hi :),from Spain.

Did Bastardy Bonds apply to Ireland? and if so so-how would I go about finding them?

You haven't mentioned dates but would be contained in Church of Ireland records- scroll down to section about Bastardy Bonds

 Thanks,

The dates I would be interested in would be from 1896 to 1800.
Would the Presbyterian Church have the same?
I have only guestimate  birth for Alexander Robinson-as I only have death age at 60 in 1958,and we all know this could be out by a couple of years or more.

Thanks

At an earlier date in the Presbyterian Church the minister and elders would have dealt with this sort of thing which would probably have been noted in the Session Minutes of the congregation. However, by late 1800s this would have been a thing of the past and all you'd probably get in Presbyterian church records would be a note of the father, or alledged father, in a baptismal record. Some clergymen were more concerned than others about getting the name of the father before a baptism could take place.

Probably won't tell you the father's name but searching the 1901 and 1911 census records should give you an idea of the child's age and a possible location.

 Hi,
Thanks.
I have searched 1901/1911 census--but the only likely candidate was son of married woman.
Alexander H Robinson had stated on his marriage cert that he was illegitimate.
Of course he may not have been born in Tyrone, but not found anyone close in whole of Ireland, just wondered if there might have been a slight chance of finding something in bastardy bonds-back to drawing board then !!
