immigrants from Belgium
« on: Monday 07 February 11 13:56 GMT (UK) »
Hi

Would immigrants from Belgium go to England first? or could they sail straight to Scotland in the early 1860's/early 1870's?  I know that they stayed in Blairgowrie then eventually stayed in Dundee.  Also could someone tell me how I go about seeing their naturalisation papers?

thanks
Suzie

Not everyone naturalised, but if they did the first place to check would be:

Not sure on the shipping - both routes were probably possible and whichever they used would have probably depended on what was cheapest.
