St Agnes Birch Rusholme Manchester/Manchester Library
« on: Monday 07 February 11 17:56 GMT (UK) »
Does any one have access to the marriage registers for St Agnes Birch in Rusholme for 1942?
I believe that they are in the Manchester Library but cant get through to them by email and cant get down there to look.I am wanting the parents names of a marriage of Joseph Geoffrey Robinson to Mabel Lord married 1942 at St Agnes Birch in Rusholme.Would anyone be going to the Manchester Library in the near future?I'd be most grateful for the info
Thanks
Diane

The only way to look this entry up is by visiting the records office and searching the microfilm

Any lookup request should also include the quarter in which the marriage was registered to help narrow any search

Freebmd shows it was in the June qtr

When did this couple die

Is this Joseph's birth reg?

Births June qtr 1909
Joseph Geoffrey Robinson    Prestwich  8d 334

If so - the 1911 free index shows him aged 2yrs and living in Prestwich

Using only the free 1911 index (see below) gives parents as Joseph Leonard Robinson aged 30 and Gertrude aged 31

Where and when was Mabel born?  If before the 1911 census you can get the same info for her

USING THE FREE 1911 INDEX TO DETERMINE THE CORRECT HOUSEHOLD
http://www.1911census.co.uk/search/tnaform.aspx

Once you find a possible match - make a note of the county and district in which the person was living

Return to the index and in PERSONAL DETAILS - just put the surname of the family - nothing else

In LOCATION - Select the county and below it - type in the district

In OTHER MEMBERS OF THE HOUSEHOLD - show the full name of the person you have found on the index

Click SEARCH

You will have to buy credits to view the full entry - the above instructions will only help to possibly show others of the same name in the same household

Thanks for the reply.I have Josephs death as 14 April 2005,the index says that he was born 9Oct1914 so I havent been able to look up the 1911 census.I have found a birth index for his birth with mothers name Baguley but cant find a marriage for his parents.
Thats all I know.Diane

That's a shame - his birth reg is just Joseph G hence me thinking the 1909 was him

Think I've found a marriage Joseph William Robinson jfm 1908 Bucklow to Sarah Baguley.Got this on Free bmd.I'd checked for any marriages on ancestry between Robinson & Baguley but came up with nothing. Thanks for info on 1911 census.Makes it cheaper to check than keep paying for records.I suppose I can verify the parents if and when I can make it to the records office.
Do you know of anyone who could do a look u there?

It would be a voluntary thing and dependant on whether anybody was visiting the RO and prepared to do the lookup

If you don't get any offers, you will have to buy the cert I'm afraid
