Colmouth

I have a will dated 1724 and it mentions land in Colmouth. I can't locate it on a modern map and was wondering if anyone knows its location. The other lands in the will were in Bolnhurst so that might give a clue.......or not :)

Yer I saw that but thought it was stretching the name a bit.

Thanks

It was the will of Ann Gurry, widow of Samuel. His will of 1718/19 also mentions Colmouth. He also mentions quite a few pieces of lands (closes?) such as Stantons 'being in Bolnhurst Wood', Pennysey Mead in Keysoe, Bushey Pennysey and his household goods at Radwell in Feversham (sp?)

Dunno if this helps :)

I'm confident that it's Colmworth. I've seen other proven cases where it's been spelt phonetically as Commorth. The only other local possibility is Colworth in Sharnbrook, a few miles away, but the presence of the letter "m" in the middle makes Colworth unlikely.

It's Felmersham, not Feversham

Is this a probate copy of the will, rather than the original signed copy? If so you need to factor in the possibility than it's a transcription error made by the clerk in the probate office.
