Still can not find William Norton born 1872 in Stanford Berkshire in 1901 census anywhere,
any ideas where I might find him and his family in the 1901 census ? I have him for 1911 census in Kensington London.

Yes  William did have children born before 1901 he had a son Alfred P W Norton born 1899 in Reading Berkshire.

Hi Debs,

I'm a bit late coming in on this thread but in the Stanford in the Vale PRs (ex OFHS)
there is a George William Norton baptised on;   25-10-1867 s/o John & Emily, Labr.

Could this be the "William" your looking for?  He may have dropped the George name.
