St Olaves Church Southwark

Can anyone tell me anything about this church.  Is it still standing? and also what road was it situated in.  I havent been able to find anything about this churh.  I understand that there is a St Olaves at Bermondsey too? is this correct?

I have found 3 churches in London bearing the name St Olave.

St Olave, Tooley Street, ST OLAVE

St Olave was also a Southwark parish and a Registration District. Bermondsey was incorporated into St Olave Southwark Registration District in 1870.

It looks as if St Olave's church , Southwark was replaced by offices & warehouses after 1928. Try this link - sorry it's so long!

In a booklet on Victorian London, I found a St Olave's church in Hanbury St, Mile End, in the Bethnal Green Registration District and St Olave as a registration District which merged with Bermondsey and Rotherhithe from 1 Jan 1870. Within that district there was a St Olave chuch in Tooley Street. Looking at a modern map, I think this may have been the one you refer to in Southwark. There is now a school and a St Olave Estate in Tooley St, but I can't see a church.

thank you for your replies.  I couldnt find any mention of the church so I assume it was no longer standing.

It seems that a great many of my ancestors lived and married in St Olave and St Saviours Southwark and lived in those areas. !

have been looking  for records for this church do you know where theya re held ? they dont seemto be on IGI

I have just typed in st olave southwark parish records and it looks like the National Archives have the parish records.

I havent used these parish records myself though.
