thing is though, she is still alive on the 1891 census, and they also had a Son George in 1882 in Trowbridge, where George was stationed (Henry/Harry was born in Trowbridge too).  That death is a bit early.  I found one in the UK for 1896 .... but .....

I think Catherine's death would need to be before birth of that George in Dublin (1889) to fit this... his mother is listed as Eliza...

yeah, George William E Knight, and Helen Carruthers L Knight both had the Parents George & Eliza.  We SUSPECT she MAY be a Kavanagh, but can't confirm that.

On both their births, Georges occupation is shown linked with the Army Medical Corps .. exactly the same as his previous children - but he couldn't have been in 2 places at once ... could he ?  ;)

I think maybe the next step might be a birth cert for George W.E. - to see what Eliza's maiden name is. Then follow that up with a search for that marriage .. in Ireland or England. The 'when' and 'where' of the marriage might help confirm if we are talking about two separate families or not.

There is a definate link with Helen Carruthers L Knight and George WE Knight as she is mentioned in HIS will in 1915.  Her Father is named as George on her marriage to Edwin Maunder Vigers in 1922, and his occupation as RAMC (Royal Army medical Corps).  I found his Army details, confirming his division through the years, and on there his Wife is shown as Catherine Fleming.  Howver, we know their Mother to be Eliza ....

I am guessing that there is a definate link with the Kavanagh family too, as they have a Helen Carruthers Lindsay Kavanagh, and also George WE Knight is living with Eliza Jane Kavanagh (his Aubt) on the 1911 census.

I will definately apply for both their certificates ... not too sure how yet, as read some odd suggestions about how to get them :) Hopefully someone will be going there soon, and they can get them for me in person ....

Thank you SO much for everything you've done this evening - it's very much appreciated.

dont worry about the various discussions on the topic on ordering certs ... just read the first post. Basically all you need for the GRO is the order form with your own details (name, address and credit card details), and a separate page with the references for the certs you want to order (as mentioned above).

Mention on your order that you require research certs... not only are these cheaper than official certs, but they are copies of the original, which can be useful if there are difficult to read sections
