Abut the Boer War, I have someone in my tree who signed up in 1902, got to South Africa (or whereever he landed not sure now) to find the war was over.  He elected to stay on in the gold mines there.

Pretty sure that one isn't ours JM!    - not certain - but pretty sure!  does suggest there is another family with Edward and Cecil in it though doesn't it!!   bit of a worry!!
