I have recently registered with rootschat, and although no one seems to be looking into the names of my direct descendents, I was interested in your surname of Mortiboys.

On 26.6.1915, my grandfather's sister, Lilian Nash, married Herbert Mortiboys at St. James the Great in Shirley. Herbert was christened 12.7.1891, at which time he lived in Yardley Wood. His parents were Frank and Elizabeth, although the father's name did not appear on the christening record. I have found one son for Lilian and Herbert : Herbert, christened 30.5.1916.

The marriage was frowned upon by the Nash family. There was some sort of scandal involved, Lilian was ostracised, and there are no living relatives who know what happened to her.

Have you come across this family in your study?
Nash, Worcestershire (Bishampton)  and Warwickshire (Birmingham)
Ball, Warwickshire (Birmingham, Shirley, Solihull)
