 :)

I think the family that I've found is probably the correct one as the 1911 free index is showing her as 61, in the Runcorn RD.  She possibly  reduced her age because her husband was 3-4 years younger than her and, as they got older, it didn't matter as much.

http://www.1911census.co.uk/search/tnaform.aspx

Interestingly,, on the 1901 there is a son called Donald Dutton, aged 25 (b.c. 1876) in Kingsley, Cheshire.  I've not found him as Dutton or M*clean n the 1881 so far.

I think that this is Donald's birth registration:

Donald Maclean, June q, 1875, Runcorn, v 8a p 238

I've just found some more evidence that might lead me to the correct family but will need to do some more research. I'll get back to you.

Hold everything!  Here is the John McLean who we talked about:

1881
8 Imersligach, Stornoway

John McLean, 44, ships carpenter, b. Lochs
Mary, 41
Peter, 10
Euphemia, 7
John Murdo, 4
Donald, 2
Ann Mclean, 2 months

All but John were born Stornoway

The birth entry for Euphemia on the IGI  (extracted) ~

15 May 1873, Stornoway. Parents John McLean and Mary Maclennan

John and Mary's marriage was on 2nd April 1868 at Stornoway

His parents were Donald McLean, sawyer and Ann, m.s. Macleod (deceased)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I think that this is the family on the 1841
Ballan, Lochs
Donald Maclean, 25, ST (Sub Tenant)
Anne, 25
John, 5
All b. County
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

And, in 1851:

Church Street, Stornoway

Donald Maclean, 35, sawer, b. Lochs, Gravar (Grabhair)
Ann, w, 35, b. Lochs Gairyvard (Gearraidh Bhaird)
John, s, 14, b. -do-
Peggy, d,  3, b. Lochs, Balallan
Mary, 4 months, b. Lochs Balallan

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And,  in 1861
52 Culnagreen Road, Stornoway
Donald Maclean, 41, Sawyer, b. Lochs
Ann, w, 46
John, s, 24, ships carpenter
Peggy, d, 13
Mary , d, 10
Murdo, s, 7
All b. Lochs
So, we have two possible sets of parents for your Margaret/Peggy!
What was Donald's occupation on the marriage cert?
I don't think it's the same Donald - a coincidence, I'd say,  as Donald was born  1816 ish
I'll go and have a look to see deaths.
I've found Anne McLean. nee Macleod 's death:
16th August 1866 at Culregrein, Stornoway. Ann MacLeod, married to Donald McLean, sawyer. Aged 54. Her parents were Malcolm MacLeod, crofter and Catharine Macleod, m.s. Ferguson
A neighbour, Alexander Macleod, was the informant.
