 Frederick William Cox was born 1870/1 C'well Surrey.
 census 1901. Aged 30.  Living in Maidenhead.

 Where was he in the 1891 census. and others if possible.

He is certainly there in the 1881 living in Wandsworth. Presume you have this info already though

I preferred this one for 1881 census ??  There is no perfect match - age and place of birth.

(Al I think yours was born 1881, therefore too young?)

  Hi, I'm back home.
 
  On census 1901. Frederick William 2nd is 7 yrs old lives in Maidenhead.

 F W 2nd.  married on 22/11/1919. aged 26 yrs.
 Also on mar cert:  Father.~ Frederick William, I shall call him ~FW 1st.  FW 1st did not sign as witness, his wife Margaret, FW 2nd's mum did.
  Nowhere does it say father deceased either.

  Residence at time of marriage and death of FW2nd (1942)is:-
 Cordwallis Street,   Maidenhead. Berks.

  Although on m.cert FW1st has William as second name. ???On 1901 census FW1st is 
  plain Frederick with no second name. 30yrs old born in C'well Surrey.

  So if anyone can lookup 1891 census for Frederick W 1st. He should be around 20yrs old.  Did his parents start in Maidenhead as well.? Perhaps I need to lookup 1871.

You say you have the marriage cert for Frederick 1st? What is his father's name?  What is Margaret's maiden name and that of her father?

Where did the marriage take place?  This will help to narrow down the possibilities, otherwise we are searching blind and can only present possibilities.

The 1881 options, for example, might be ruled out if we know already that his father's name is not George???

Sorry, I was confused by the "as well" bit!

Just had a look at 1891 - no Fred W in Camberwell, only 2 in Surrey.  Not sure how I would go about proving which is yours??
