Just had a look on the LDS site and there is a good few Richard Huggards for Kerry shown up I presume you have used this site before?

I guessed it was Richard from the Griffiths Valuation of the area

Yes that Richard is one of my brick walls - I'm pretty sure he's one of mine but can't make the final connection.  I have used the IGI site lots - very useful but everything from there needs to be verified I have found!

Would you relatives be included under Tralee Church of Ireland?

I think so - Clahane is close to Tralee - it was the Rector of Tralee I wrote to - the church of Ireland parish I think was Ratass

Have you ever tried the Registors Office in Dublin they have records for all events from 1865 on wards might be some clues from death records.

Even head stone inscriptions might help for the area. Needle in a hay stack I know.

I have hit a break wall with my search on all sides!!

Hi Jaylay,
I have also spent hours going through the Casey collection. It is difficult and time consuming but I was lucky and found some entries for my family. I agree with Gerard that Annagh is probably too far west to be included. The Registry office in Dublin has records for non-catholics going back to 1845 so that might be worth a try. You might also be interested in this book -

It's a while since I read it but it has a lot of information of the Blennerville/Annagh/ Tralee area.
Best of luck
There are too many of us lined up at the 'brick wall'. I would love to see someone have some success !

Hi janglover

Sorry to take so long replying to your post - I've been away for the past few weeks.  That looks like a worthwhile book to try and get hold of - I'll see if I can get it from my local library - thanks for the tip.

Gerald - that looks like a really interesting source - my research in Kerry is in a tiny townland called Clahane - in Annagh. Huggard is the name of the family.  They are proving very difficult to track down.  Do you think it would be worth my while checking it out?
