Thomas Jones and Catherine Powell
« on: Saturday 19 February 11 14:06 GMT (UK) »
Hiya I am unable to find a marriage between the above named couple pre 1837 or after.  Their eldest daughter was 2 on the 1841 Census.  So presumably I am looking for a marriage before then.   They were both from Llywel Breconshire.  Actually living in Trecastle on the 1841 Census.  I have had a look through Breconshire Parish Marriages but I couldnt find them.  Can someone help me please.
Thanks you

hiya thank you for your reply may i ask how you came by this info.  i have searchhed census and i found him to be a labourer but if he was a gamekeeper/huntsman then the birth cert i have for theiir daughter mary is indeed the correct birth certificate.  thanks so much.

thank you for replying to my query.  my greatgreatgran was mary jones whom i know her dad was thomas jones huntsman from her marriage cert.  i ordered a birth cert for  her and it named hr mother being a catherine powell.  i found one record of this on a census and guesed then that catherine must have died quite young. i then found a thomas thomas married to a margaret?  they had boys between  them one named rees.  my greatgrandad was rees so i assumed they named him after his uncle.  what threw me was thomas occupation on some of the census  he is named as aa labourer.  sorry to ask for your help again.  do you think i have the right family,

Dear Llangatwg("Cadoxton?)
I have the marriage on file and the details of a the second marriage.  The issue for only the 2nd. family can be found on the census. Where were they in 1851? I do emails in my local library cannot get back to you until next Tues. There is a Karen chasing this same family.
