By the way have you followed Sarah and William Clarke through the census.
I can't find them in 1841,
I have them in 1851 (no e on the end), then 1861 and 1871 then gone by 1881 - haven't checked deaths /burials but I reckon thats what happened to them.
Interestingly William was a coal merchant in 1851 and an Ag Lab in 1861 and Lab in 1871 they lived all this time in Moreton in Marsh.
In 1871 they were in West Street, 1861 in Back End and not stated in 1851

Thinking about what Pennie found, James could have been from either Sarsden (to the NE of Fifield), Nr Chipping Norton Oxon or Lower Sewell (to the NW of Fifield) Nr Stow on the Wold (Glos).

They would be good places to look in the PR's or ask for a look up in them on here from some kind soul?

You will then need to get the PR's checked for Hannah at Westcote, which is in Gloucestershire (and always has been)

Hats off Nigel! That is a kushty result i really appreciate it,ive sent you a p.m now hopefully i can research em further now! As for William and Sarah apparently they were in Moreton in marsh 1841 clarke spelt without the e and William was a Labourer? Family rumour has it when William died Sarah was left a pauper and went to live with either her son John clarke   and wife Mary in Worcs or her other son James and wife Elizabeth in Chipping Norton James was working as a travelling horsegroom thats what me grt Nan told me Mum anyway dont know how much of its true! Thanks again for James and Hannah info im off to get a pen to write it all down! Dunc

Id just like to say many many thanks to Nigel,Pennie and Bucksboy for all the time and effort spent on my behalf tracing my Ancestors i just about given up on finding em!Once again thanks ever so much Dunc

Long time since ive been on here im just wondering is is possible to find William Clarke and Sarah Archer(Archer Orchard!) in later census records 1861 oneards and a possible list of off springs for me please? Much appreciated in advance
