Down memory lane  ::)

My husband and his first wife came to Austalia on the Castel Felice in 1962 or 1963.  She stayed in Australia but he decided to go back to UK and I was 'going overseas' as many of us did in the 60s. We met on the Fairsea on its final voyage when it caught fire in the Pacific in January 1969 - that was quite scary!

We travelled home from UK on the Fairstar in 1971 - she was quite flash compared to the other Sitmar liners.

We also travelled on the Australis and the Britannis but thought the crew on the Italian ships more friendly and helpful  :D

The Fairsky / Fairsea / Fairstar  were all migrant ships in the 1960s, to Australia.
The 1980s one is possibly a replacement for the original - I vaguely remember reading somewhere that this happened.
Like Dundee says, try NAA.  Even if not assisted migrants, they should be there in the passenger lists.

Family traveled on Fairsky. Leaving Southampton November 5 1969. Ship broke down so we crossed the equator 3 times. Went back to UK on her in August 1976.  :'(.  Fond memories. Traveled with the Kelly family from Liverpool. John,Kath and the 3 girls Gillian Karen and i think youngest was Ann. Met up again in Parramatta swimming pool months later. They lived in Blacktown. We lived in Graystanes. I still have the 'ships log' of daily events, where we were at sea, next port destination etc. Sadly Baz, Dot and youngest David now passed. Would love to hear from anyone on the ship either times.

   On board the Fairsky December 1965.    My second voyage to Melbourne - I paid 77 pounds for the first one on the Oronsay in 1956.
