Hi

One of the problems with having the same request on another board,  is that you can have different people posting the same info on both posts, because they do not know of the existence of the other post

This is why we show links to the other thread to alert them to that possibility

Have you looked for him on the free 1901 and 1911 censuses?

the earliest listing I find for him on Sheriff St is in 1949, as follows :

9 Sheriff St, Lower, B.J. Donnelly - grocer, wine & spirit merchant

Number 9 is next to the junction with Chapel Lane East.

Do you know Margaret's maiden name and roughly when and where they married ?

Tandem champs buried on the same day by john o shea. nov 1977
irelands famous tandem cycling champions - bertie donnelly and herbie breadon
who won the 25 mile title together in 1933 will be buried tomorrow morning in the same graveyard in mulhuddart co dublin,
the death of bertie donnelly yesterday was followed soon afterwards by his long time partner, herbie breadon of 22 st patricks park blanchardstown co dublin, he was 69, like birtie herbie was a member off harp cc he won several irish championships before serious illness cut his career.
there funeral takes place after 10 o clock masses respectively in st bridgets church blanchardstown (mr breadon) and church of st vincent de paul.

nov 1977

that was from the mass leaflet.    Herbie got TB      Bertie went on to win lots more titles.

hope this helps   regards from rory

Hi Kirsty,
You still out there?
I am related to Bertie Donnelly the cyclist too and have loads of info. First can you tell me who your mam and grand parents were? Was it Francis or Gabrielle? Or did you mean Grand niece?
Ben
