1871 census look up please

Would be grateful for a look up on 1871 census for

Moses FITCH   aged  27   born Widdington

George FITCH  aged 25    born Widdington

Jesse FITCH  aged   22     born  Widdington


These brothers may or may not have been living at same address

Hi Wilma,

I've had a look for your Fitch brothers but can't seem to track them down.

I did find a George Fitch aged 14 and born in Widdington with parents Elizabeth 57 and Joshua 64 both born in Widdington.

There did not seem to be a Jesse or Moses Fitch on the 1871

Are these the correct ages for 1871 because there is a Moses Fitch age 28 born Widdington married to Emily on the 1881 census although this entry does look a bit odd and Emily is 42!

Any chance that this could be Jesse as Widdington registers in Saffron Waldron

Do you have these people on any other census? There is a George on 1881 born Saffron Walden and also a death of a George Fitch age 36 in 1885 in Saffron Waldron .

Do you have their father's name from a marriage cert. Moses is very elusive on 1871

The Moses on 1881 born 1853  was to a different family.   Think you are right about Jesse.

Waiting for marriage certificate and hopefully this will clarify a lot.
