Hello everybody

Just spotted this string and seeing Elis & HAmbledon mentioned thought I'd see if anyone can assist me or is connected.

I am looking for info about my Ellis family of Hambledon.   I have Thomas chr 7/11/1759 in Hambledon & who married Jane Winson 1/11/1778 in Chiddingfold & moved there.   He has siblings Jane chr 13/3/1757 & Hannah chr 9/4/1765 also in Hambledon.     Their parents are listed on IGI as James & Mary.    And that is as far as I got.

Any ideas anyone.

All help gratefully appreciated

Thanks

Mick

Hi Mick
I'm sorry I can't help you, but I'm sure there is a connection between your Thomas (1759) and my Richard.  I don't have a christening for Richard, but he married on the 19 Aug 1760 to Mary Horton and continued to live in Hambledon until sometime after 1788 when they moved to Portsea.

I don't have parents for my Richard, but I suspect that my Richard and your James (parents of Thomas) might have been brothers - but how to prove it?

If you find the link then I am more than happy to share what I have of the very large Ellis family that my Richard and Mary spawned, some very interesting intermarriages through the generations makes for complicated reading.  Just send me a person message through Rootsweb.

Keep in touch on your research, and I'll do the same.

Regards
Val
ps:  Rootsweb was great, the information given allowed me to find Richards burial in 1802.

Hi Dean
Delighted to meet an Ellis cousin.  I'd love to find out how we link.  Can I suggest you send me a post on Ancestry and then I can give you my email and we can find out how we relate - and I can then give you access to my extensive tree (called Hellewell Tree (Part)  ).
