Tomb at Slamannan
« on: Sunday 27 February 11 18:08 GMT (UK) »
I am wondering whether anyone might know anything about the tomb that is shown on maps lying close to Boxton, Redbrae and Broom farms at Slamannan.

I would be interested to know who is buried there and also why they are not buried in a churchyard.

Any thoughts?

Possibly a private burial ground?

I don't know these places very well - was it close to, or within any estates? If so, there are a few of these dotted around.

One that springs to mind is the Dunmore Burial Ground (near the Pineapple) along the road from Airth. It belonged to the Earls of Dunmore although I think the estate has been sold off for housing or the like.

Hi Anne,

I don't know anything about the tomb other than it's location as shown on local maps.

I know there are several others in the area but my interest in this one is that I have a number of rellies from both Redbrae and Boxton (Boagston) farms and I am wondering whether any of them might be residing there?
