 :D Hi guys,

The info is looking good, it does look possible that Thomas remarried a second time & possibly before he set sail for Australia.

Thomas McCracken Chalmers parents were David & Sarah as Dawn said, the death in 1952 looks good too, I'll come back to you all about Ethel's parents.

Does anyone know of any children to Thomas & either wife in or around Sydney or Chatswood??

Thank you for your time & effort guys.

Regards,

Spatts.

 :) Hi Dawn,

Ethel's parents were a William & Mary, lived in Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire but, are from Scotland. Ethel Elizabeth was born abt 1886/7 in Hanley, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire.

Just need to check the rings he has on his Naval uniform, there isn't a loop on the top ring, which would indecate a Captains rank, if there is a purple ring in between the four gold, he could be a Ships Engineer or a Marine Engineer as mentioned in other posts.

Regards,

Andy.

Spatts,
If you were to look at the link provided by Merlin above, you would see the limitations of search years available to the public in NSW.

You could have a look for early deaths (before 1980) of children with the right parents.

Hi
You probably need to make a certificate purchase to possibly clarify this situation.

The information on a death certificate for any individual depends on what the informant knew, but may be of help.

The certificate of marriage to ANNE ADELAIDE (if it is the right man) should tell you whether he was a widower or divorcee at the time.

A less expensive alternative to ordering a copy of the original is through a Transcription Agent

Here is a link to what you may find on
Australian certificates-
