My Great Grandfather John Vernon Hope was a member of the Railway Pioneer regiment and he was one of the 28 British casualties when he was killed on 7th June 1900 at the Battle of Roodeval.

Hello,

As my GG Uncle served with the RPR (Frederick Albert Blewett) I have taken a keen interest in the RPR.

I am sure that you have them, but, I have a copy of your Great Grandfather's Record of Service (one page) and a note in the Times on the 21st June 1900 listing the death of the men killed and wounded at Rhenoster River.

I also have a copy of WO 108/338 List of Casualties, and a copy of your G Grandfather's listing on the Nominal List and finally a copy of his name on the Medal Roll (WO 100/265).
